Grape or Strawberry, God?

Whether we realize it or not, we make decisions all the time. To what extent does God want to exercise control over our lives? Should we be asking for guidance on every decision or not, and if not, how can we know if a decision falls into the "ask" category? Does God really care if I use strawberry jam today instead of grape jelly? I don't know if we will ever know the answer to these questions this side of heaven. God cares more about our decisions than some people think, but less than what others think; going to the extreme in either direction presents great difficulties. Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:31 sums this up quite nicely: So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. If we focus on God and his glory, all our choices will fall into place. If we choose wisely, great, if not, he will let us know and guide us back to the right direction. Let's just make sure that we are doing everything for HIS glory and his alone.

How can we glorify God in the choices we make today?

More from Easter

Many shops this past Sunday were closed due to Easter. I don't know if they always close on Easter Sunday or it's a new practice, but it was a pleasant surprise to find out they were closed today; almost like finding a plastic egg filled with chocolatey goodness under a bush. Almost. I did not know that Jesus' resurrection was such a big deal that even retailers would close.

Has the fact of Jesus' resurrection caused you to do something that you wouldn't normally do (in a good way, of course) as well?

He Is Risen!

First Post!

Today is what is Good Friday. At first glance, Jesus' horrific death on the cross might not seem like such a good thing, but when we realize that he did it for us, how can we not look upon this day thankfully? We could not save ourselves from our own sins so he came down and took care of them for us - for free. What a magnificent love that he has for us! Thank you, Jesus, you are the coolest!

FYI: This Sunday we have a combined Chinese and English service at 11:15 AM to celebrate Easter. Lunch will be provided following the service.
